I’ve run Red Dead Redemption 2 and at the same time I was playing an HD video on YouTube (in Chrome Browser), and both of these swapped around 11GB of ram.Īs you can see, the games and applications are becoming demanding over time. The laptop on which I’m writing write how has the 16GB of ram, and it’s a gaming laptop. Well, this is the sweet spot to tackle multiple tasks at the same time without slowing down your PC. Just have a look at the prebuilt builds or gaming laptops, everyone is equipped with at least 16GB of ram. Let’s find out what you can accomplish with 16GB and 32GB ram kits. But if you are a hardcore gamers, then you have to leave aside 8GB kits and prefer 16 or 32GB kits depending upon your needs. An 8GB module would be enough if you don’t want to play demading games and just want to stick with basic tasks. And if you have 4GB ram installed on your computer, find out if it’s worth upgrading to 8GB from a 4GB memory. Now a days, 8GB is the bare minimum to deal with different tasks. Also, before going for an upgrade, checkout which ram type is compatible with your motherboard. So you have to go for the module that falls under your budget while meeting your needs. Increasing your ram to an amount that is below the bare minimum will welcome bottlenecks and spending too much is just the waste of money. Upgrading your ram is the cheapest way to enhance the performance of your computer. Otherwise, if I was just going to use this for normal computing and media consumption and not actual work, I would have gone with the i5 for a pretty significant cost savings.Ram installed on a motherboard 16GB VS 32GB | Which One You Should Go For

I gave serious consideration to the i5 model but at the end of the day I want to be able to draw and ink in photoshop without worrying about pen lag so I went i7. But for 1080p be sure to have 16GB RAM and a AMD Ryzen R7 1800X processor or better. I doubt it's a difference the avg user would notice. I'm a desktop guy so I never paid attention to that stuff, but I'm guessing it's basically the same tech just scaled down a smidge. I don't know anything about integrated graphics, no. But MS could have compensated somewhere else in the design in order to give both units the same usage rates.

I don't know enough about the chips to say but typically if it's clocked faster, it eats battery faster, so there's that. Thanks for the feedback! Would you expect the i7 version to take a hit on battery life? Also, processing power aside, do you know anything about the integrated graphics performance of the i7 (iris, I think it's called.) compared to the i5 (HD520, I think.)?It's possible I suppose.
